Crystal Reed is Returning to 'Teen Wolf'

Watch out, Beacon Hills: Crystal Reed, who portrayed the beloved Allison Argent on MTV’s Teen Wolf, is officially coming back.

Argent was killed off in the hit show’s third season, at Reed’s wish. “I spoke with my team and expressed that I wanted to do different things and explore different avenues and tell different stories,” she told Entertainment Weekly in 2014. Her character’s death came as a shock to fans everywhere, especially because of the lack of a funeral scene for her. While many fans wished to see Argent return, Reed was uninterested in reprising her role.

Now, BuzzFeed News unveiled that Reed is scheduled to return as a guest star for a February 23 flashback episode of Teen Wolf. Reed will be portraying one of Argent’s ancestors, Marie-Jeanne Valet, known as the Maid of Gévaudan. Her character will be used in a story by Gerard Argent to tell the legend of the Beast of Gévaudan, a werewolf that terrorized villages in early-1700s France that has since returned to Beacon Hills.

Reed’s return will further the plot of Teen Wolf‘s Season 5B, show creator Jeff Davis explains in the Buzzfeed interview. “[The main characters] Scott (Tyler Posey), Stiles (Dylan O’Brien), Lydia (Holland Roden), Malia (Shelley Hennig), and Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) are trying to figure out how to defeat [this] supernaural creature.”

Davis is optimistic about the amount of support Reed’s return is sure to get. “[Her character] is another female warrior, and I think one of the great things Crystal does is she gives our viewers, especially our young female viewers, someone to look up to.”
